Sometimes situations arise in our lives when our parents are unable to live alone and care for themselves. Thank goodness for Prairie Manor Nursing Home—they take good care of my mother, Ms. Trudy Easley.

Nursing home placement is never easy. There are circumstances, however, when such a decision is a little easier. Such was the case in our family. Our loved one decided on her own that she could no longer live independently and also realized that, regardless of how much we wanted to, we were unable to provide 24/7 total care.
The facility for placement was never discussed. It was automatically understood that her choice would be Prairie Manor. Why? She had visited other family members there, knew several residents as well as employees, and had heard all of the positive comments about it.
As a health care professional, I fully realize that health care is not perfect, but when you have health care professionals who do care, that makes a big difference. This is what my mother-in-law, Ms. Ella Miller, (recently deceased) and her family found at Prairie Manor and others like us find here also.

I am writing this letter regarding my father, Narcisse "N. E." Johnson. My family and I would like to let you and your staff know how much we appreciate the good job that each one of you does. We appreciate the Christian family atmosphere that is shown at the nursing home. The sanitation of the facility is always in good order. On several occasions, my family and I have had an opportunity to eat lunch with Daddy in the cafeteria, and we enjoyed the meal.
All staff has treated Daddy and the family very well. However, Daddy really likes the special attention that he receives from Susan Welch, Tabby Fontenot and Daniel McRoy. The family would like to thank all the nursing home staff, specially the three workers previously mentioned, for helping to make Daddy's stay in the nursing home more comfortable.
Daddy takes pride in knowing that by serving on the original Board of Directors he was able to help get this nice nursing home facility for the Pine Prairie area. I feel our family is fortunate to have a facility this nice in the parish to be able to use in a time of need.
